There is no denying that the gin-volution is well and truly underway. And nobody does it better than BLOOM. With its floral undertones and fruity finish, BLOOM Gin is best enjoyed with two ice cubes, a splash of tonic water and stirred, not shaken. But call us snobby, if you don’t have the right glassware, then it just isn’t the same.
As gin purists, how to drink gin is a subject close to our hearts. It is well known that gin can be served in lots of different glasses (just view our cocktail page), but it is typically served in round balloon glasses – or the “Copa de Balon” to give it its official name. The Copa (pronounced Koh-pa, as in Cabana) is said to be the perfect gin glass, as it is designed to collect the aromas of the gin and infuse them throughout your drink. Because our range of gin uses only natural botanicals, drinking from one of these special glasses means making the most of BLOOM’s rich complexity from start to finish. Added bonus? Because the Copa is designed to be held by its stem instead of its bowl (like a wine glass), the ice won’t melt with your body heat. Now, that’s what we call a gin-win situation.
If your drinks cabinet lacks proper glasses, don’t worry. We have introduced a gorgeous gin gift set to our range that will revolutionise your beloved bevvy. The BLOOM London Dry Gin gift set comes with a branded Copa glass and comes beautifully packaged in our signature colours – making it the perfect gift for any gin lover (which means you, too). Accompanied by a 70cl bottle or a 5cl miniature of our iconic London Dry Gin, this dynamic duo shows how to do gin properly. Perfect for any occasion, these stylish gift sets means you can enjoy your gin and tonic right away, the right way (which, let’s face it, is the only way).
Exclusive Gift Set with the Bloom Signature Copa Glass
So whether home alone or with friends, you can enjoy the unique taste experience that is BLOOM Gin in a glass that rises to the occasion. And keep those boring old tumblers for something else.
With the festive season fast approaching, ask any of the BLOOM team what they love most and they’ll (probably) say two things: Christmas and gin. We’ve already sorted our presents (BLOOM gins for everyone!) and we have already got our outfits for the onslaught of back-to-back parties. We say roll on Christmas and all the present giving and creative cocktail making it brings.
Christmas gin gifts have gathered a bit of a following these days and we understand why -that’s why we’ve designed our own gift box that’s just as stylish as the bottle inside…(see BLOOM’s Special Edition Christmas packs here). Even pink gin Christmas cake recipes are beginning to appear (thus making afternoon boozing acceptable), so we say ‘tis definitely the season to be merry.
But what about all those who don’t like gin? We created our London Dry Gin with you in mind. Joanne wanted to create a gin that even non-gin drinkers would love, which is why our London Dry is much lighter in flavour and less juniper led compared to others.
We’ve also introduced two decidedly non-ginny gin liqueurs to our range. The gorgeous bottles makes them ideal to give as gifts (or keep for yourself because you know, you’re worth it).
Let’s start by introducing our Strawberry Gin Liqueur. Combining fresh, macerated strawberries, not only is this a fragrant choice for gin haters, but the blended fruit makes for a fabulously light and luxurious drink. Our advice for how to drink it best? Over ice with Fever Tree Mediterranean Tonic and garnished with grapefruit segments and a sprig of mint. Or try it with ginger beer for a sexy twist. As gin liqueurs go, it’s pretty damn good, even if we do say so ourselves.
If you still think you don’t like gin then we guarantee that our smooth, sophisticated Lemon and Elderflower Gin Liqueur will change your mind. Pour over ice, and add a splash of sparkling wine or lemonade for a taste of summer in a glass. Finish off with a wedge of lemon and hey presto. Nothing could be further from your granny’s G&T.
If your idea of Christmas spirits go beyond the humble lemon slice and a can of lukewarm Schweppes then read on. Premium tonic brands such as Fever Tree have some superb xmas mixers for those who want something other than tonic with their gin. We suggest trying their Elderflower Tonic with BLOOM Original for a particularly yummy Yuletide makeover.
If you prefer to keep things simple, then the delicate botanicals in BLOOM’s London Dry Gin lend themselves perfectly for a festive garnish. We love the addition of strawberries, raspberries, grapefruit slices and lime wheels to give a fresh, vibrant edge to your tipple, but really, anything goes. For a wintery twist, try adding a strip of ginger or a sprig of lemon thyme. Roaring log fire optional.
So ‘gin, dong, merrily on high’, ‘gin-gle all the way’ and other bad puns aside, there is no denying that a bottle of BLOOM is all the festive cheer you’ll need this Christmas. Whether you pour it on your pudding, drink it neat over ice, warm up with a hot gin toddy or go all SATC with cocktails and the girls, make sure that whatever you’re doing, you’re doing it full Bloom.
We have conceived two fabulously festive cocktails for our LIVEFULLBLOOM fans this Christmas. Find below our favourite seasonal serves.
